Situated about 10 minutes from the beautiful hill top city of Angouleme in the Charente region of South West France, this
property was virtually derelict when it was acquired it in 2005. The original building was basically a "one up one down"
labourers cottage. Behind the cottage, framed by a beautiful "pannier" archway had once been a large barn, which had now
no roof or internal structure remaining. Our designs added a double storey extension inside one end of the old barn, facing
onto a landscaped courtyard, turning the property into a three bed roomed quality family home with a superb exposed stone
bathroom. The ground floor of the new extension contained a large fitted kitchen with french doors out into the courtyard.
